Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Malpractice, I have been in chapter 13 for about 4 yrs, I ask my lawyer, if I could file chapter 7' without hesitating , she said yes. Her legal advice was wrong I owned property other than where I lived. ,I paid her ,500' dollar's for her professional advice, and she was wrong, now I have too start all over again,5 more yrs. Not to mention tje money I lost. Can she be sued for malpractice. B

You asked whether you could file Ch. 7. She said yes. How was she wrong? What action did you take? How did you have to start all over? Actual facts, not vague statements, count.
Eligibility for chapter 7 is different from the issue of losing property in the liquidation process. It's easy to convert from one chapter to another.
I'm having a hard time seeing what your case is since according to you, you need to be in the chapter 13, not 7, so you never actually relied on her advice.
If it's the $500 that you've upset about, you need to put your thinking on an appropriate scale. In the world of legal professional fee's $500 is chump change. Most lawyers charge that much just to meet with a client and write a letter.
