Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
I just moved to Savannah Ga from the state of Missouri in the last 20 days. I was told by a law firm in Missouri before I moved I would have to file in Georgia because that is where i would be living, is that true?

Bankruptcy is usually filed where you have been for the majority of the past 180 days. In 71 days, Georgia will be the correct place. You will not be eligible for Ga. exemptions even though filing here at that point. There are possible exceptions to the 91 day rule so check with a local lawyer near you in Georgia now.
