quitclaim deed

i plan on filing chapter 7 without my spouse .i want to quitclaim deed our home over to my spouse so no part of it is taken(sold or equity) during my bankruptcy . can i do this and will my home be safe from this bankruptcy? i am the co signer on the loan.

What you propose doing is called a fraudulent transfer. It will not likely go undetected, may get your spouse sued for the property transferred, and could cause you to lose a discharge.

Doing that would about guarantee losing the home, and might, if fraudulent intent is shown, land you in jail. There are often ways to keep a home in bankruptcy. See a lawyer to explore your actual options, and do NOT even think of giving away your home.
