Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
rights as an individual creditor
A Fellow who owed me approx. 15,000 dollars on a contract purchase declared bankruptcy (Chap. 7) but did not list me on his list of creditors. I never received any notice that he intended to declare Chap. & at all - is there any chance I could collect the debt?

You'll have to see a lawyer for specific information. However, generally, creditors who have actual knowledge of the bankruptcy case are not provided too much slack. In fact, a creditor may even lose out on any distribution from the Bankruptcy estate if he/she does not file a proof of claim by the deadline.
