Rules on collecting a debt incurred after bankruptcy has been filed
I have an individual that is in debt to me by a binding contract. This individual filed for bankruptcy a few years ago. Does that allow them any protection is this matter?

If the debt was incurred prior to the bankruptcy, it is likely that the debt is discharged if a Chapter 7 (and may or may not be in a Chapter 13). Any effort by you to collect could have severe repercussions against you. A lawyer would have to review the details, but in the interim, don't do anything about the debt,
