Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
In the state of Georgia, if a couple has separate bank accounts and one spouse had filed bankruptcy prior to the marriage, is the spouse who was not involved in the bankruptcy responsible for the debts of the spouse upon the death of the spouse who filed the bankruptcy?
Thank you!!

Yes and no. No, if you dd not sign for the debts they are not yours. However, the estate is responsible and depending on how the estate is probated (will, year's support etc), the creditors may be paid, in many but not all cases, before the spouse.
