Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
Totaled car that was included in my Chapter 13
I've been paying a Chapter 13 bankruptcy for two years (of four), and recently totaled the car that was included. What happens now?

You should be on the phone with your Chapter 13 lawyer. He must represent you throughout the case, will know the details of your plan, and can assist you. You may need to amend the case, dismiss it, convert to a Chapter 7, or do other things, and the insurance settlement should not even be discussed without his input. Call him (or her) ASAP.
