Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Georgia
X-Spouse Filed Bankruptcy
My x-spouse filed backruptcy. We had one credit card left in both our names. The divorce papers identify the card with account number as being his responsibility. I understand that the credit card co. doesn't care about the divorce papers and will report it. Is there anything I can do other than sending an explanation with copy of the divorce papers to each of the 3 credit companies and in addition, carrying a copy in my pocket every time I want to apply for a loan? I could pay it, but I believe the balance far outweighs the extra interest that I might have to pay in the future. Thanks for the advice.

You may have a right, if you act in time, to object in bankruptcy court to his discharge of the debt.
