Assignment
If personA owed me 36,000 and I told personA to give the money to my brother as a birthday gift, before the money was paid, I canceled the assignment and told person A to pay me instead. Can my brother successfully sue on the assingment to get the 36,000?

Maybe. An assignment of payment is a property right. Once it is transferred, the assignor may have no more rights to the payment and, therefore, can't take back what has already been transferred away. It would depend on the specific facts and terms of the agreement.
