Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Bill from ''Labor Ready''
I contracted with Labor Ready to provide labor services to my company. I was slow in paying my bill and they turned it over to a collection agency that is threatening to file suit against me. I originally owed $7600.00. They now say that I owe $15k and they will sue to collect. I did write a check to the company that did not clear my bank for the amount of $1000.00 in April. I am willing to pay them back, but they are telling me that they will only accept the $9k of which I don't have. On the work tickets the provided, there were ''phoned in'' hours and no one signed the tickets on approx 70% of these. Am I legally resposible for these unsigned tickets? The fees that the collection company is charging is approx. $3K
