Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

My ex boss has been harassing me since I left. I was an independent contractor for her, under no contract and she is threatening me with legal action if I contact any of the clients I treated while at her spa. I am under no noncompete with her and was wondering if she could legally do this? She told me that I stole personal information from her clients through their computer system and she was turning me over to the police. This is not true. Any information I obtained was given to me by the clients at the point of service to them.

She has also threatened me with HIPPA complience, Stating I could serve time for contacting her clients. We were under no HIPPA policys that I am aware of. I never signed any documentation for privacy and neither did my clients.

Can she "legally" make threats of legal action? Sure. She certainly has the right to disagree with your story, and we only know your side. However, until she has taken the action, there is nothing for you to do (and probably nothing you can do). Stop communicating with her, if you are. If she does take action, you retain a lawyer to represent you. One point to clarify - Contract or not, you cannot take things like customer lists or other such information owned by the company. You also would have potential problems if you were working for them, and being paid by them, and at the same time soliciting their customers for your business. Again, notjing has happened and we know your side only.
