Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
business partner
I have a business partner that up and left. He waited 6 months to write an agreement, I haven't answered him for 2 weeks so his lawyer suggests to file a lein on my house. Is this legal, since my business and home are two separate things?

Re: business partner
The only way for a lien to be filed is ether in accordance with a contract or after a lawsuit has been filed and a judgment obtained. Further, generally, the assets of the owner of a company are protected, but there are many exceptions, especially if the business is not set up and maintained properly.

Re: business partner
No one here knows anything about your business, the "agreement," the proposal by the lawyer, why thee is even a suggestion of a lien, or a host of other relavent facts. However, since the other person has a lawyer, that is one more reason for you to see one who can take a look at all relevant facts.
