Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
I need to know if a business is required by law to carry workman's comp insurance for independent contractors who supply their own vehicles, tools, etc, and submitted a 1099 at the end of the year. We do have regular employees and I do know that they do require workman's comp by us.

No, workers comp insurance is not required for contractors (assuming they really are contractors and not employees).
