Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

Business sale - partial

I am a sub contractor to do lawn maintenance for a chain of local banks in my area. I would like to sale that part of my business to a different party. Is that legal? If so, how do I go about doing that?

Re: Business sale - partial

Generally, the owner of the business can sell the business, whether it be the assets, stock, membership interest, or other interest. You post insufficient facts to provide more details. See a local lawyer who handles business transactions such as this.

Re: Business sale - partial

It is legal, but it may not be possible without the consent of the chain of banks. Unless you have a written contract which allows assignment, they can simply refuse to continue the arrangement with the new owner.

In all events, you will need the services of an attorney familiar with the sale of businesses.

Sure, it's perfectly legal. You just need to sit down with an attorney to make sure all the details are addressed.
