closed my business

I had to close my corporation and now I have everyone wanting their money! i don't have any at the moment so what would my options be? I want to pay them but I am still trying to get on my feet from a losing business.

You probably have a number of options, but many of them will depend on what you mean by "close your corporation." Was it dissolved, put into bankruptcy, etc? You might be protected personally, but the assets of the company, if it still exists, might be in trouble. In addition, if you improperly transferred assets of the company when it still owed money, you could be on the hook for that as well.

Your best option will be to obtain legal advice regarding the status of your debt obligations, and financial advice regarding development of a plan for repayment that you will be able to comply with.

It may well be that the creditors can get very little if anything. If the corporation has no assets with which to pay its obligations, they may be out of luck. However, you should have your total situation reviewed by an attorney to see what, if any, personal liability you may have.
