Re: collecting past due money from a company

You didnt ask a question, but if you are looking for a recommendation for a plan of action, I would have an attorney write a demand letter and try to resolve it without litigation and if that doesn't work file suit. If you are seeking $15,000 or less, you can go to small claims court. Otherwise, you will need an attorney to file in state or superior court.

Depending on the amount, the defense that the other company or individual may have and your time you may want to consider going to small claims court. The clerk will usually help you with the filings and you can keep more of the money in your own pocket. However, if you have little free time and the matter is complicate hire an attorney.
