I do a good bit of HOA law. The answer to your question depends on the wording of the e-mail. If you would like to discuss further, please free to give me a call.
Re: E-mail confidentiality
You don't say what it says. There is a difference between a threat to kill the President, or someone just calling you names. We can't guess what it is. In most cases, common sense applies - as in, what would you gain by doing it. In many cases, it just makes everyone look bad. It is highly unlikely any HOA laws apply.
