Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Can an employer press charges on a person who was a "key holder" to the facility when they refuse to return company property (location keys). The ex-employee quit via text message and phone call and refuses to return items they were entrusted with?

It would be the very unusual case that any law enforcement agency or prosecutor would pursue. Most likely, they would not give you the time of day. It is a civil issue. If it is worth it, file a suit for the value of the property in small claims (unless the value is worth more than $15,000).

Contrary to what Scott says, it is not a civil matter. The company could seek an arrest warrant for theft by conversion.
