Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Fraud
My company at my attention was served today for uncollected debt of $8,000. It is a civil action suit. I have no prior knowledge of signing up with the company or have ever used their services through my corporation. I now, do have a good idea who did use the services that my company is in debt to. He was not authorized to do so. Also, when I confronted him about it he said we should call them up and see if they will settle for $2000. There is no we, it is his fault I am in this mess. I do not feel that I have done anything wrong and the whole publishing business was a disaster for me. I have not even been associated with the business for a year and a half now. In Febuary of 2001 I made a attempt to dissolve the business but lack the $20 to do so. I am still paying for this whole magazine mistake and would greatly appreciate your help.
