Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
My friend's name starts with MD, the short form for Muhammad. Everywhere in his legal documents, his first name starts with MD. When applying for an LLC in Georgia, he tried using MD as his first name but was declined and he received an email stating to use his full name but not an abbreviation. So he reapplied for it using his first name starting with Muhammad.
But now when he is trying to apply for bank accounts, they are declining it because the legal name on his ID and the legal name of the LLC owner does not match. What can be done in this case?

Interesting question. It's odd that "MD" got on his legal documents as that's not his name. That's why the Georgia Department of State would not use it on the LLC application. Don't know how Department of Motor Vehicles or passport office accepted "MD."

I agree with the prior answer. His actual legal name should be on all the documents. It's unclear why the DMV and passport office would have allowed him to just use "MD."
