my grandfather is having openheart surgery monday morning I contacted my d.o.n. to let her know i wouldnt be in sunday or monday because i will be staying at the hospital she told me that if i did not come in it is job abandonement and i will be terminated

As a Franchise Attorney I agree with the other attorney answer and only add the following. In this economy having a job is a great thing. I'm sure you will take this into consideration and there's not a lot you can do for your grandfather during surgery and post-surgery anyway.
