Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Hello,
I posted this question the other day . . . "My husband and I FILED OUR BUSINESS NAME with the Georgia Secretary of State, and we thought that THAT was all there was to beginning a CORPORATION" I wanted to say thanks to the lawyer that told us to call the Secretary of State. That was helpful. Yes, maybe they can tell us how to undo this paperwork.
I REPOSTED my question only because I was trying to stress that WE DID NOT DO ANYTHING beyond securing the NAME of our business, (received "certificate of incorporation") and appointing ourselves as directors (me and husband) showing our names and addresses. (We also had a notice published in the paper about it.) My husband and I live on Social Security. We can not see a lawyer. We don't have the money. That's why we have submitted our question here. Thanks again.

You keep getting the same answer because you keep posting the same question, and what you are posting is NOT what you have done. (There is a process to simply reserve a name, but no certificate of incorporation issues).
If all you did was reserve a name, you never would have received a certificate of incorporation. Since you do not even know what you did, and since what you do now needs to be done correctly, pay a lawyer for a consultation. If money is a problem, get a referral through the Atlanta Bar. Your consult with them will be about $35.
But do NOT try to fix something when you don't even understand that what you are asking is obviously not what you actually did.
