Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
I have just been kicked out of a good friend of 10 plus years wedding because I wrote a letter to her asking if she was truley ready to get married and pointing out some disturbing issues that conflict with someone who is ready to get married. Her Best Friend and maid of honor was forwarded the letter by the Bride and told the bride that I was jealous and not her true friend. So in return I was asked if I really wanted to be in the wedding or not by the bride. I responsed immediately with a yes. I though things were fine between the bride and I after I explained why I even wrote the letter. However the next day I got a text and call saying that after talking it over with everyone she (the bride) has decided that I may not be her true friend and so that the others arent uncomfortable being around me at the wedding, I am no longer in the wedding. I then told the bride that I respect her wishes however I will need $500 to cover the dress and shoes and bridemaids dues I had to pay or I would see her at the wedding this friday. (I only said $500 being nice and still giving her a wedding gift since I have spent waaaaaaayyyy more than $500)I have spent more than $700 on my $100 shoes, my $200+ dress for the wedding, the $250 each bridemaid had to pay the maid of honor for the shower and bachelorette party and other items that were not followed thrur on. Plus gas and time traveling to and from the location for dress fitting and alterations, and events since I live more than a hour out of town. I am totally heartbroken that I wont be able to attend my friends wedding. We have been through so much. However the maid of honor called me the same day cursing me out for more than 30mins and told me if I show my face at the wedding that the police will be called on me. I remained very calm the entire time and thanked her for calling however point out that the letter was not addressed to her and i would appreciate if she not talk for her freind, however allow her to speak for herself. I work for the govt and cant risk loosing my security clearence. I have tried making contact with the bride through text and voice mail, and I have had no response. What can I do now?????

What can you do now? The answer is crystal clear - stop harassing your friend and others in the wedding, and stop threatening to ruin or interfere with the wedding. She does not want to speak to you!! This is not even a close call and the bigger question is why you have a problem understanding it. You may have had good intentions in the beginning, but now it appears that your intentions are far from good. They appear to be spiteful, and we only have your side. You did not buy the dress for the wedding as part of a business arrangement, and doing so certainly gives you no right to be in the wedding. From your post, you caused the conflict, and regardless of your intentions you should have anticipated the result. Accept the consequences, stop trying to ruin it for everyone else, stop harassing people who have seemingly made it clear they don't want to spek to you, and maybe you can repair the relationship later. If you show up at the wedding, and risk an arrest and your job, your issues run far deeper than can be resolved on a message board and they are not legla issues. Sorry to be harsh, but even your side of the story shows the issue is not the bride or groom.
You can stop criminally harassing your "friend" and leave her completely alone. A pertson has the right not to hear from you, and if you are foolish enough to continue to try to contact her and her friends (be in email or calls or going to the wedding) you will probably get arrested and lose your job and land in jail.
