Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Labor Law
My boss just told me that I can't work until I pay for a drug test because he thinks I'm coming in high. He isn't testing anyone else in the shop. Can he single me out like that. AND make me pay for it?

Re: Labor Law
GA being a "hire and fire at will" state, he can fire you for any reason or no reason. There is no requirement that, in the boss's opinion, unnecessary expense be incurred for all employees. Something obviously has raised a red flag in his mind. The ball is in your court.
Re: Labor Law
If the employer thinks you are coming in "high," there would be no need to test anyone else. Based on your post, you are "singled out" because you, not other employees, are the one believed to be high. As most employment is at will (we don't know if you have a contract), you may face the choice of paying for the test or facing termination.
