Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

Licensed Puzzles into my clocks

Wincraft told me under no circumstances would I be allowed to make and sell clocks using their puzzles. Why? I pay full retail plus all s/h costs just like anyone else. I then put them together, mount them and make a clock out of them. I was selling to my friends at work. Why can't I do this? It's not like I am getting any breaks by paying full retail prices! Can they do that. I thought once I bought something it belongs to me and i can do what I want with it. Help please. I run a small business and this has ruined my business of sports clocks. P.S. I live and my business is in AL, but I sell in GA.

We do not know the grounds they raised in their letter (and you did not include that in your post), but the (possible) short answer is that just because you purchase an item does not mean you can turn around and use that company's intellectual property in items you sell in your business. Presumably, the company thinks your business is profiting off of the brand they have built. From your post it looks as though they might be correct.
