Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Mechanic Lean
A plummer I hiered to perform work on new construction placed a lein on my home. He did the work on 6/2006 and placed a lein on my home on 1/2007. I thought he had 90 days to file a lein. He also installed the wrong plumbing fixtures in the wall behind slide in showers. He was informed to use a higher grade fixture and now we are stuck installing cheap Delta fixtures. To fix the problem would cost more than his bill. We were also agreed that the job was already paid in full and now he has sent me a bill for just over 3000 dollars. How can I resolve this...

Re: Mechanic Lean
You are correct that he should have filed his lien withing 90 days. That time perioed was for his protectiion. However, the fact that he has now filed it late still constitutes a cloud on your title. You should consult with a local attorney. You may have to sue him. There also may be a way to dissolve the lien.
