Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Named CEO and unaware of it
My father has named me CEO of his insurance business without my knowledge. Just started a company myself and found this out on the secretary of state website. Am I liable...what can happen to me if something happens with his business?

Re: Named CEO and unaware of it
It depends on what you mean by "liable." Liable for what, according to whom, etc. Generally, if you did not consent to the appointment, you are not responsible for the problems. However, some companies or institutions, like the IRS, may hold you responsible until you show them otherwise.
