Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Non-Compete Agreements in the state of Georgia
My current employer has a standard non-compete agreement and uses it as a 'weapon" . I've heard that in Georgia a non-compete is not binding... one of the clients has offered me a position, but I am positive this company will at least threaten to sue... any idea what my options are ?

Non-competes are legal in Georgia if they are reasonable as to scope of competing activities, geographic restrictions and time. I would recommend that you have an attorney review the contract to see if it is likely enforceable.
