Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Offering a free services to build my design portfolio.
I have a friend who's band just got signed to a record lable. I have offered myself to him and the record label to build the band a website for free as long as they ackknowledge that I was the one who designed and built the site. Do I need my friend and record label to sign a contract(or some legal paper) agreeing to this? What should the paper read? I just dont want them to say that it was their design and that I had nothing to do with it. I would like to put the site on my design portfoilo and say that I design and built it without having to worry that they will say that its not true.

A simple contract can protect your rights in this case. I assume that you have already discussed this with your friends. Please give me a call and I would be happy to discuss the matter further with you.

You would need a license agreement stating that you/your company will retain all rights in the intellectual property created and that you will have the right to display the work and the contents of the site.
If you would like to discuss any issues further, please feel free to contact my office. My contact information is below. Thank you.
