Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
oral contract
I agreed to provide Turfgrass maintenance services for a local school district. A school representative and I agreed (verbally)for me to do the work( which started 18 months ago). I being an old fashioned guy, believed that a man's word is a contract. There has sinse been a change in administration and my services are no longer needed. My ''contract'' was annuallly for the period from january through December. October applications were the last for the year, and I'm expecting payments through December. Do I have a legal leg to stand on in collecting my final payment?

From the facts you presented you should be able to pursue a breach of contract action.Call me to discuss.
Re: oral contract
Most of the time, verbal agreements are just as enforceable as written contracts, but you may run into the problem of what exactly the terms were/are. Often, the two parties do not agree on exactly what was agreed to. In your situation, you would have a breach of contract claim; however, since there is new administration, they may not agree that it was an annual contract and you would have to show that it was.
