Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

I owned a hair salon that closed and I signed a lease a few years ago as the guarantor. The hair salon was incorporated. Can a company come after me personally? Can they garnish my wages or put a lien on my house?

If you singed a personal guaranty - yes, that is what it means and why they had you sign. They can sue and if they win garnish wages, accounts and place a judgment lien on your property.

Yes. That is what a personal guarantee meant. You promised to pay if the business did not. It is likely that they will sue you, get a judgment, and then will garnishee your wages and bank accounts and have a lien on your real property. Had you done what all businesses should do and have had a lawyer at the time, he would have inexpensively warned you about what now will probably be a very expensive problem for you. All you can pray for is that they forget to sue you until the statute of limitations expires.
