Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
My partner and myself own a small construction company in GA and SC. We are looking to purchase an existing company in SC with another party. We want our portion of the new company to be owned by our LLC. Is that possible? And is there a way to DBA the new company under the old one but have the other party be a owner only on the DBA? Thank you for you help.

The answer to your first question is generally yes, but it depends on the laws of the home state and what type of entity it is and its tax classification. Regarding the DBA, if the company registers the trade name then it cannot be registered by the other individual, and vice versa.
