Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

partners

My husband and brother were going to build some storage buildings. My husband put up his land. He borrowed 63,000 he got 18,000 his brother put the rest in his account or in some kind of bond. His brother backed on the business and will not give back the money. If payments are not made we will lose the land and the money. What can we do?

Thanks

Re: partners

File a suit against the brother if it cannot be resolved.

Re: partners

It sounds like you are probably going to have to sue your brother for the return of the money. I would suggest retaining local counsel to send a demand letter giving him a certain deadline to return the money. If he does not, file suit. However, because he is family, I would hope that it could be resolved without the need for litigation.

Re: partners

You should consult with a local attorney to review any documents involved. If there were no documents, it needs to be investigated as to what proof exists as to the terms of the agreement.
