Previous owner sold her salon to me, then opened very close by and took all customers away.

Usually, when you sell a business like that your written agreement will impose a non-compete preventing the seller from operating the same kind of business within 25 or 50 miles. If that was not in place, then nothing prevents them from opening up across the street and competing with you so long as they are not using the same business name.
