Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Which one profit, non-profit, or not-for-profit
I'm working on getting together small classes to teach computer skills to. I'm looking toward a future of having this be my primary job. I would like to be able to sell services as well as accept donations from non-members or partners. What business model would this fall under?

Advising you on what business model to follw, based on three sentences, is far beyond this site. See a lawyer who specializes in setting up small businesses and/or non-profits.
Re: Which one profit, non-profit, or not-for-profit
In addition to Mr. Riddle's posting, IRS code 501(c)(3) dictates which organizations may be granted tax exempt status. The company must pursue one or more exempt purposes - charitable, educational, religious, scientific, literary, fostering national or international sports competition, preventing cruelty to children or animals, and testing for public safety. Otherwise, the company will have to be for-profit.
