Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

Hi, I recently wrote 2 checks within the same week of one another one for 27.99 and 47.00, needless to say I didn't pay attention to my finances and both checks bounced at the same time. I tried to go in today to make good on them with cash and both places said to come back tomorrow. I just check my bank account and they tried to run the checks a second. How can I fix this with the businesses because I really do not want to get prosocuted for such small amounts....

p.s. I live in georgia and both checks were written in cobb county

Make sure there is enough in your account so they do not bounce in the second try (and remember your bank will charge you a big fee on each check and so will the merchants). Anyone who has a checking account knows that is likely. So if you have about $200 in the account today, you are fine. Otherwise, by not dealing with this correctly and immediately, you probably will see the bad check prosecution notice and will need to address that. You also may land in Check Systems and find banks won't want you as a checking account customer.

Note that if you were normally a good bank customer, most banks would have paid the checks and charged you a fee. They typically only bounce checks for people they are fairly sure may not make them good.
