What is an "unofficial partnership"? You either have a partnership or you don't. It's like a light switch -- it's either on or it's off. There's no in between. Removal of a partner from a partnership is typically dictated by a written partnership agreement. The Uniform Partnership Act will likely dictate if you do not have a written partnership agreement. I would recommend hiring a Georgia attorney to discuss the specifics of your case and your options, if any.

There is no such thing.

A properly created partnership is written and the procedure to remove a partner exists usually is spelled out.

Absent that, hire a lawyer and you'll likely pay a good bit to dissove things in court.

The other attorneys are right on point. A partnership can be oral and binding. Absent a mutual agreement where one partner buys out the departing partner, you will have to dissolve the partnership, which will entail legal expenses, etc. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
