Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
A retail store allows shoppers to bring pets into their store as a matter of new policy. Another shooper spots a cute dog and proceeds to pet the dog. The dog bites the startled shopper and requires a trip to the emergency room. How do most states treat this situation with regards to the liability of the store owner in this matter. Could a shopper sue the store owner?

From your vague post, the shopper was the one who initiated the contact with the dog. Why would the shopper sue anyone if it was her/him who tried to pet a dog because it was "cute," without knowing a thing about its temperament. That is a lack of basic common sense. Obviously, the store owner was not involved at all. Of course, many people want a paycheck for such things, even if it is primarily their own fault, so anyone can sue for anything (and find lawyers to represent them).
