What are my rights

My father-in-law was the owner of a business and he ask myself and my husband to move to the area and take over business we did and I got all licenses in my name and we have been running the business now for 4 months now he says he wants us to get out can he just make us leave after we relocated and this is our way of making a living and he just gets mad and decides to put us out. We did not have a contract in writing but he did sign one paper saying we were new owners and would be runnig business at this location.

I would need to know more facts and I would need to see all relevant documents to tell you whether he can kick you out of the company. If he legally transferred ownership to you, then he would have to follow the company rules and policy for getting rid of you. On a side note, it maybe possible to get reimbursed for moving expenses and related costs if he induced you to move to run the company.
