Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
sold defective product as is, now served with summons.
I sold a TV on craigslist for $200, it was a 55''flat screen projection tv, and the colors were a little off. At time of purchase, I turned on the TV and made it clear to the buyers the color defects the TV had. They purchased the tv, but then served me with a summons because they said I told them the colors could be adjusted and fixed with a remote and they couldnt. I never said that the colors could be fixed with a remote, they are confused, and now I have a court date with them. What is my best defense?

Your best option is to at least consult with a local attorney. If you would like to discuss, feel free to give me a call.

A written bill of sale stating it was as-is and the buyer had the opportunity to inspect. If not, their word against yours.
