Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
I sold my small sub shop to someone. However, the utility company failed to close my account and continued to provide services to the new owner under my account. The new owner gave them 4 bad checks under my account with now an outstanding balance of $2000. Who is liable? Who will be prosecuted? This occured in the county of Gwinnett, GA, Thanks ofr your help!

You left out the one important fact. What did you do to close your account and what proof do you have?
It will depend on the terms of the purchase agreement, but it is most likely that the buyer will ultimately be responsible for the costs. However, to protect yourself, I would recommend paying the balance and then pursuing compensation from the buyer.
