Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
I want to start a center for LGBT at risk youth to include temporary shelter, educational opportunities. It would run on donations and grants but eventually become a working farm to sell organic goods to restaurants with all profits going to run the center. What classification would I start with to begin donation process as well as licensing requirements? I am in the process of writing a business plan.

You do not need special status or classification to receive donations. However, for those donations to be tax deductible to the donor, your company would need to be a qualified non-profit (likely under 501(c)(3) of the IRS code). Separately, you will need a business license from the county or city depending on whether you are or will be located within city limits.
Given the current political environment, I would be willing to create the corporation free of charge other than filing fees. However, you will also need a CPA / tax advisor to file the tax exempt application with the IRS.
