Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

We are starting a new business, and are wondering about it's legal standings.

The Business will be called Imaginings Unlimited(c).

It is to be a network, or union, whichever is more suited, which aids people in many ways.

First, it acts as a gathering zone, with many core projects which will be worked upon by our members(or clients).

Second, it helps artists of all types become published by giving them a company name to grant them a certain pollished look.(this is later on, after we have gained some notariety.)

Third, we would provide certain counselling to our members(or clients), such as copywrite, Tax and our huge address book of publishing firms and agents.

Our only question is; Is this a legal practice, and if not, what may we do to make it so?

As a general matter, most of the things you seem to want to do seem legal. However, without further information, I would not be able to comment specifically. For instance, if you plan to offer legal tax and copyright advice, you may run afoul of laws prohibiting the practice of law without a license. You could use attorneys/accountants to provide these services. You also need to consider what type of business organization you want, what type of contracts you would have members and clients sign, etc. Have you developed a business plan yet? It might be helpful putting your ideas into written form. Good luck, and give me a call if you need assistance.

The foregoing is general information only, not specific legal advice. Check with a local attorney before taking legal action. No attorney/client relationship has been created or should be implied.
