Tradeshow Giveaway -- Business Card in a Bowl
Our software testing company is going to set up a contest at our booth at a tradeshow in Atlanta. We'd like to have people throw their business card in a bowl for a gift giveaway to win a MP3 player or a free training class. Are there any legalities we need to be aware of for this contest?

No, not really so long as you actually give away the MP3 player and the class. I am not aware of Georgia law, but I am sure it is the same as here. If in doubt, go to the nearest mall and see if there is a win-a-car box. If so, you are clear. And always remember the maxim as to local government when your project appears normal and consistent with other conduct in the community - never ask unless you are prepared for the worst answer you can imagine.
