Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia
Unauthorized auto repairs
I took my car to the shop for a tune up. Upon returning home from the shop, the car wouldn't crank. I got the car cranked and took it back to the shop. I told them to check it out and let me know what was wrong. They took it upon themselves to put a new alternator in the car without my consent. They claim that they thought I wanted it fixed. They charged me $600 to get my car back. I am afraid to tell them to take the new alternator out, for fear that they will do more damage to the car.
Do I have any recourse for getting my money back?

Re: Unauthorized auto repairs
Unless you have it in writing that they were to call you before doing any repairs, I would be that they would testify that you brought it in with a "Fix It" request. Without the writing, I think you lose.
