Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

I am a website designer and had a client that agreed to go forward with a project and said he would make a direct deposit into my account first thing Monday as we finalized our agreement late in the day on a Friday. I said I would get started over the weekend and the client was fine with that. I ended up completing over 8 hours of work over the weekend and for no apparent reason, the client vanished and would not return any of my phone calls. I've invoiced him for the 8 hours of work I completed and he is ignoring me completely. Can I sue him in small claims court even though our agreement was verbal?

You can try. But with no proof of terms of an agreement how do you expect to prove to the court that you had an agreement and what it was?

If you are in business and want to do things right you should be using a written contract prepared by a lawyer. Learn from this mistake and do that.
