Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia
I got arrested for domestic violence but have not been charged or convicted of it. I sent in a visitation form to visit a inmate in prison and was denied because they said I have criminal history but my record is spotless except for the arrest that i havent been convicted of. The florida administrative code chap 33 states that visition may be denied if it has not been 1 year since the release on incarceration of a misdemeanor CONVICTION. But I have not been convicted and I have proof that they have labeled me as criminal and has defamed my character. The inmate sent me a notice where they are stating that im a criminal with hstory. Isnt this terms for a type of tort law suit or something? I feel like that have defamed me and ruined my character and have disregared the rules stated in chap 33.
