Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia
Dishonorable Discharged Marine
All I really need to know is... Can a Marine who went AWOL, plus received a ''Dishonorable Discharge'' become a Deputy Sheriff? This is very important to me, and I have yet to find any help with this matter. I will be extremely grateful if you can give me an answer.

Re: Dishonorable Discharged Marine
It depends on the department. An employer is allowed to refuse employment for any non-illegal reason, but it is up to the employer to determine what reasons will make a potential employee ineligible for hire.
The foregoing is general information only, not specific legal advice. No attorney/client relationship has been created or should be implied.
