Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia
Hi, so I gave a horrible situation on my hands. I purchased 2 boxes of dark chocolate fudge brownie mix by duncan hines, from my local grocery store. I did not try to cook these immediately. I opened one box a week after purchase and it had a bug in in just flying around in the batter! I was disgusted. Needless to say, I threw away the box but not before taking a picture of it and it's contents. I immediately tried to get in touch with duncan hines and after a month, still have gotten no response. Yesterday I went to open the second box and was so excited until I poured out the batter and added water and realized the batter was MOVING! It was little worm/baby maget things(sorry for not being technical but I'm not sure what they were). There were alot of them. I was so grossed out and in shock of what I was seeing that I was just sitting there with my mouth open thinking this can't be happening to me again.. how disgusting! I took more pictures and threw yet another box and money into the garbage. This experience had ruined the outlook of any sweets in a box or anything I can cook from a box. I'm so scared that this will happen again. I will never purchase another boxed item again in my life. Again, I reached out to duncan hines and got no response. What is my next step? What do I do? They CAN'T get away with this!

Sorry, but you don't have a "horrible" situation that just about everyone else has not encountered at some point. Yes, it was a bad batch, old and expired, or poorly stored. Yes, the store and manufacturer would want to know about it and would want to make you happy and keep you as a customer. Had you taken it back to the store, they would have replaced it and probably given you coupons. Had you sent pics to DH, they would have sent coupons, and still might do so. That is it. You have no legal issue. You have no damages. There is no big problem to solve and there is nothing anyone is trying to get away with.
