Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia
A guy (ex-boyfriend) is threatening me with a restraining order if I ever show my face in the bars he frequents. Because I slapped him about a month ago, while we were on a trip to Pittsburgh. Does he have any ground for this?

If you do not currently live with your ex-boyfriend, and have not even lived with your ex-boyfriend, he cannot file a restraining order against you for showing up in a public place at the same time as him. There are other things he can do, like call the police if you show and say that you are STALKING him or that you have ASSAULTED (no physical contact necessary for assault; that's battery) him. Seems like he is ready to get you in trouble at first notice -- maybe you should stay away from him!?!?!?
Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
